Widely regarded as the most successful illuminated magnifier series of all time, Eschenbach Vario Plus is also one of the largest. With multiple magnification options, and a modular system of interchangeable lens heads, it’s been a winning combination for years.
System Vario Plus is designed to allow either handheld or hands-free use. This means that if you cannot easily hold a magnifier, or prefer not to do so, you can instead just rest it on a page or other flat surface. This makes it ideal for reading over long periods, or for anyone with weak grip, age-related shaking, or Parkinsons Disease.
This model has a 100 x 50mm rectangular aspheric lens (3x), producing a sharp, distortion-free image across a wide area. The lens is housed inside a lightweight enclosed lens head, helping concentrate your eye and the light onto your subject. It also incorporates a flip-up yellow highlighter lens and a tiltable magnifier head to help avoid neck strain.
Two powerful mini LEDs, at the top of the handle illuminate your subject with high-contrast white light. If white is too bright, you can change the colour temperature with the additional yellow or orange light filters supplied. The handle has a large on-off switch just under the thumb to operate the LEDs, as well as a battery compartment for two 1.5V C batteries (not supplied).
This Vario Plus magnifier is supplied complete with lens, handle and filters. The price reflects that this is a superior quality Low Vision Aid, and part of a versatile modular system. Lenses and handles can be purchased as separate items, meaning you can upgrade, replace or switch to different strength lenses as and when required.
